Our mission at HAPPYMOOR is to make the world happier. We fulfil this mission through a community-based format to co-create more appealing cities and regions. On our HAPPYMOOR Harbour platform, cities, companies and other organisations share activities, resources, expertise, and experiences to create better customer journeys, more personalised experiences, and happier residents and visitors, individually and together. By joining forces and working together, we are building more sustainable cities and regions that will increase people’s well-being and happiness and the vitality of businesses and communities.
In Business Finland‘s future scenarios, platform economy can deliver both scary and bright world views. We want to build HAPPYMOOR Harbour as a platform that, like a platform economy, creates value as a network, but shares the benefits of the value co-created into the businesses and activities of all the members who have joined the platform.
Funded by The Strategic Research Council (SRC) at the Academy of Finland, the Platform Value Now project explores emerging platform ecosystems, their value creation dynamics, and the requirements of the institutional environment that underpins them. “Silicon Valley may be the mecca of technological innovation, and China has recently established itself as the leading business model innovator. Europe can learn from these, but also highlight its own strengths, such as its special focus on social and societal value creation. Awareness of the various pros as well as cons of the platform economy is high in Europe and keeps growing, and this attitude supports balanced and responsible development of platform activities., “writes Heidi Auvinen, a VTT researcher involved in the project.
At the HAPPYMOOR Harbour, everyone involved in the platform’s business ecosystem contributes to creating and benefiting of the value that the network has co-created. The platform offers companies and other organisations the opportunity to develop their own business and know-how, and to create new value for their customers and into the service experiences of other companies and other organisations within the network. At the same time, it creates demand for new service providers, that is to say, for completely new companies, required for the production of the new experience formats. Harbour provides work for solo entrepreneurs in the creative industry and business development as service resources. The residents, for their part, contribute to the development of better experiences. Through cocreation of new experience formats we are able provide better services, products and other experiences in the city environments for people.
Sitra recently outlined the megatrends and urges one to dream of desirable futures and build a better tomorrow together. With our HAPPYMOOR Harbour platform and glocal collaborative format, we create a more economically, socially, culturally and ecologically sustainable way to produce experiences, do business, and work. We are now looking for pilot cities and other partners to pilot the platform and format and take them to cities around the world with us. Join the #happymoormovement!
